Smoke & Mirrors Promo Video Contest

For the release of our Smoke & Mirrors Deluxe Box Set, we announced a contest challenging anyone interested to produce a promotional video showcasing the cards. The rules were simple, there were none, with details deliberately left vague. It was an open call for submissions. All we offered were the finest tools; the canvas however, was blank. After two months, the deadline was today.

Although we’ve had contest like this before, nothing of this magnitude. For this particular contest, it wasn’t simply a single deck, but an entire series. And the prize was unheard of: a lifetime supply of playing cards. The competition was fierce.

The entries have been phenomenal. Never before have we seen such talent, creative direction and production value. It has been inspiring.

Before we announce the winner, we congratulate everyone who participated. We know what it takes to put these videos together and admire the participation and effort. Therefore, we will be sending everyone who entered the contest a Carbon Copy Box Set, which features 6 decks of the new Smoke & Mirrors v7 playing cards.

The grand prize, a lifetime supply of Smoke & Mirrors goes to Bayu Ajie, Abie Jie Assegaff, Noer Reza, Alex Rudianto, Rama Dimasatria and Gior Getarcipta for their cinematic trailer we call, The Agents. The video was shot by Abdul Kohar Zulkarnean and edited by both Bayu Ajie and Gior Getarcipta.

We love how fun and exciting this video is. It is mysterious, but tells a story too. Perhaps with all their new cards, we’ll see more episodes from “The Agents”. We also feel it beautifully symbolizes ambition, collaboration, style, and excellence, which are qualities we strive to promote.
